This Week...

Hello lovlies...

This past weekend we spent a wonderfully relaxing couple of days in Sun City.  Despite South Africa being on the verge of winter {think southern hemisphere!}, we enjoyed amazing sunny weather and were even able to lounge by the pool one afternoon.  It was pure bliss.  I was looking through my photos last night and can't wait to share them on here, although that will have to wait for another day I'm afraid.

We have a busy week ahead of us!

First off, this handsome guy is graduating with his doctorate this afternoon!  He's now been in college for almost ten years and today is the day that all of those years and years of early mornings and late nights are finally going to pay off.  Having witnessed four of those ten years, I can honestly say that no one deserves it more than he does.

Jurgen, congrats.. you did it!!!  I'm so very proud of you my love and I can't wait to cheer you on as you walk across the stage tonight!  Just don't forget about me when you're famous, ok?

Me, on the other hand, I'm stuck smack dab in the middle of exam week {bleh}.  I wrote my first exam yesterday morning and then have another this coming Friday.  Although this week isn't very conducive for studying with all of the graduation festivities going on, come Friday I'll be finished with the semester and will have a little break from classes until the middle of July.  And naturally... a little break is always a welcome relief.  I'm looking so forward to a few weeks of having evenings all to myself :)

Jurgen's parents flew in over the weekend {from Cape Town} to celebrate with us in Sun City and they're staying in Jo'burg until Thursday to attend the ceremony tonight, celebrate with us afterwards, and spend a few more days just relaxing in good old Josi.  It's been so great having them here - this is my first time seeing them since December, which is way too long of a stretch in my book.

In between all of this I'm hoping to get a Sun City post up this week, but with that pesky exam happening on Friday and all of the other fun things happening in between, no promises.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and is looking forward to a great week ahead!

  5. That is so weird, didn't consider it being almost winter over there! how cold does it get? We are venturing into summer over in Seattle and it has been rain and 50 degree weather so I would take a South African winter over our summer any day :)

  7. That's so interesting that the seasons are reversed in the Southern Hemisphere. I never really think winter when I think of June!
