This weekend I had to pick up a few small things for the flat {laundry basket, wine glasses, etc.}, so Jurg and I headed into town on Saturday to scope out a few different shops. One of the places we stopped by was Sutherlands and we were both completely and utterly amazed by how huge the store was on the inside. I'm talking floor upon floor of the most beautiful furniture and interior design displays that left me dreaming of what I want my future home to look like one day. It was enough for a person to get lost in for days.
Unfortunately the quaint white cabinets, comfy wrap-round couches, beautifully hand-crafted wooden tables, and impressively huge bookcases fell slightly outside my budget, but both of us enjoyed pointing out our likes and dislikes, sharing preferences, and devising an elaborate list of must-haves for our {hopefully} one-day future home.
Somewhere along the line we also discovered that there was a small cafe on their premises. Luckily, cappuccinos are one commodity that are always worth splurging on {according to me at least}, so we sat and happily sipped our cappuccinos, continuing to devise plans for our future dream home and laugh about the sheer silliness of our own ideas before finally heading home.

After I took this picture Jurgen exclaimed, "It turned out so awesome, it's like art deco!" Uhhh, ok, too much furniture shopping for you! ;) |
It was one of the most perfect Saturday afternoon dates I've ever been on, and also one of the cheapest.
Who says it always costs to have fun!? :)
Home shopping is so fun (even if it doesn't end in any purchases!) I can't wait to do our next home - especially with stores that sell things I actually like!
