My love for Paternoster is no secret and this is not the first time it's made an appearance on this blog. It's like a little piece of Greece hidden away on the coast of South Africa, but with a third world charm that could never be found elsewhere in the world.
I love the tiny seafood restaurants along the beach, the colorful fishing boats pulled up onto the sand each afternoon, the local stray dogs which seem to know their way around better than anyone, and the local fisherman who constantly try to entice you with bags full of fresh crayfish.
It's like a little piece of heaven.
But, more than anything else, I love the simple white beach houses found throughout the town.
If I could own a second home anywhere, it would be here.
Prime beach property in a small town setting, away from the city and the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A place which could so easily be transformed into a cozy little retreat by the sea.
Unfortunately, seeing that these adorable, modest homes would set us back between about four and eight million rand {$500,000 - $1,000,000}, for now I will just have to keep dreaming.
Luckily there are photos, so you can dream with me!
Paternoster Mascot - and my favorite pic of the day :)
If you could own a second home anywhere in the world, where would it be?
This place looks amazing! I don't think I could narrow it down to just one place, but Italy and South Africa are at the top of my list!

ReplyDeleteI would want a second home in Greece- I just swoon over the boxy white homes on top of steep hills overlooking the ocean. sigh...
Gorgeous! Wow! What a dream to live in such a pristine and beautiful place. I'd live in Scotland on the coast. Nothing feels better.

This place is heavenly! We live in So Cal and I find myself wishing we could live in the beach front homes in Newport. Then I have the same sense of reality that we need to be millionaires to ever have a chance at owning real estate like that! Someday, right?
